PA12 vs PA6: which nylon?
They're siblings. PA12 absorbs noticeably less moisture, so it stays printable longer between dryings and behaves better outside a dry workshop. PA6 is the harder traditional workhorse. Both are strong, wear-loving, and happiest enclosed.
What temperature does PA12 print at?
250-275 °C at the nozzle and 80-100 °C on the bed. You still dry the spool; PA12 simply forgives a longer gap between dryings.
When to pick it
Durable mechanical parts that live in the real world: brackets under constant load, clips that flex daily, hardware that outlasts PETG. It costs more, so save it for parts that earn it.
